Sunday B. Morning

Sunday B. Morning

The “Sunday B. Morning Edition” is a silkscreen print involving Pop Art stalwart Andy Warhol himself. It is the only Andy Warhol (After) work that the Warhol Foundation (Andy Warhol Foundation for the Arts) considers acceptable.
In 1970, a German and a Belgian planned a European edition of Warhol’s work, and the original silkscreen prints were on loan.
Warhol dropped out of the project, but they maintained a friendship with Warhol until his later years.
The two men worked together as a European imprint to produce 250 copies of the unauthorized work in a slightly different color scheme than the original. On the reverse, they stamped “Published by Sunday B. Morning” and “Fill in Your Own Signature” in black ink. Warhol signed a few of them with “This is not by me,” thus making them an authorized European edition.
The current work bears a stamp in blue ink.
The Sunday B. Morning Edition works used the highest quality inks on the highest quality papers. They come in a quality considered equal to the originals by Warhol.
