オリジナルキャラクターである「chibi-chan」を様々な画風に落とし込み、下書きをせずその場でフリーハンドで仕上げる作風でライブペインティングやウォールアートで一躍、活動の場を広げる。近年では葛飾北斎の富嶽三十六景をオマージュし、独自のスタイルである愛らしいキャラクターと魅惑的な色彩を掛け合わせた「波乗りおちび」を代表作としている。透き通るような水彩画と独自の構図が特徴である北斎の画法をマットで硬質なアクリルガッシュの鮮やかな色彩で一新し、古き良き伝統と現代のポップアートを調和し、斬新でしなやかな造形美で表現している。

Elena has been increasingly expanding her opportunities on art practices by livepainting and wall painting, adopting the style of freehanding without drafts, introducing her original character “chibi-chan” in various sets of styles. Her recent representative work “Surfing Ochibi” which placed as a tribute to Hokusai Katsushika’s “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (Fugaku sanjūrokkei)” is a great example of explaining her own unique style of adorable characters and enchanting colors mixed with Hokusai’s traditional techniques. Prolonging Hokusai’s painting method on watercolors and unique compositions, she introduces her works with an alternative use of vivid colors of matte and hard acrylic gouache, leading it to harmonizethe good old traditions and modern pop art in a novel and a supple formative beauty.
